West Lodge is a recently refurbished former Gate Lodge, situated between the villages of Dunster, Timberscombe and Wootton Courtenay. The Lodge sits in a rural location and is a haven for wildlife with rabbits, pheasants and many different birds being spotted in the garden. There are many lovely walks and cycle opportunities directly from the Lodge with Dunkery Beacon, Timberscombe Common and Ranscombe Hill all within reach of the property. For sightseeing, the nearby medieval village of Dunster has much to offer with tea rooms, pubs and shops and the National Trust owned Dunster Castle to explore.
West Lodge is the perfect location to explore Exmoor!
Accommodation
The Lodge sleeps 4+Cot, in a double room with en-suite and dressing area and a twin room with a family bathroom. The spacious, well-equipped kitchen has a new electric AGA, dishwasher, microwave oven and views of the surrounding countryside. The sitting room has comfortable seating for four people and a woodburning stove. There is also a handy utility room with a sink unit and freezer.
Outside there is a large enclosed garden with stunning panoramic views of the nearby wooded hills. There is also parking for up to three cars.
The Lodge is all on one level so is great for people who have trouble with stairs.

The picturesque village of Dunster in north Somerset is a place you'll never forget. With its Olde English buildings, restaurants, gift shops, and of course the magnificent castle overlooking both the village and the nearby coastline, a visit to Dunster is one to be treasured. With the seaside town of Minehead just a few miles along the coast and the preserved West Somerset Railway stopping off en-route from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead, visiting Dunster is like stepping back in time.
